This Week's Prayers

JUNE 17,

(Meditation: Matthew 22:37-40)

Almighty God, You gave Your Son that I might live. Yet I live as if You do NOT live. Your sacrifice to redeem me was total, yet I have dishonored Your gift by failing to love my neighbor as myself. I have lived narrowly and selfishly, wanting more to control than to share, wanting more to acquire than to give, wanting more to be loved than to love. God, I am truly sorry and humbly repent. Turn my will to Yours, my self-seeking to praising You, and my pride to humble gratitude. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.

June 18,

(Meditation: Matthew 6:31-33)

God, I feel like I'm on a fast-running treadmill. There are so many things I've got to do. I have to run just to stay even. I'm afraid to slow down for fear of losing ground. God, help me to relax, to step off the rat-race treadmill, and to turn over control of my life to You. Help me to manage my time better and to learn to say no. May I always keep You number One in my life. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.

June 19,

(Meditation: Ephesians 6:10-11)

God, I don't have to look far to know that evil is very real. I see it in my own life. I see it in the world. But too often I don't call it evil, because I'm afraid of being called intolerant. So I don't speak out. I compromise Your truth. Fit me with the full armor of truth. Overcome my artful dodging, my not wanting to get involved. Grant me discernment, and the courage to stand on the side of Your truth. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.

JUNE 20,

(Meditation: I Peter 4:10-11)

O God, may my faith have hands and feet, a face, a voice, and a heart, so that I might minister to others. May the gospel I profess show in my face, be apparent in my deeds, and be ever in my heart. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.

JUNE 21,

(Meditation: I Corinthians 15:55-57)

O God, when I meditate on the cross, help me to see the Creator of the universe hanging there, rejected and despised. Help me to see the blood on His brow from sharp thorns, the blood on His side from a sharp sword, and the blood on His hands and feet from sharp nails. Help me to see that He did this for me and for all who believe in Him. Help me to see victory in His suffering, and resurrection in His dying. O God, thank you for sacrificing Your Son on the Cross of Calvary, and for His victory over sin and death! Amen.
